Where we stand Medicare physician payment cuts
Every year Americas physicians and their patients face the threat of cuts to Medicare physician payments. With 60 percent of physicians indicating they will either decrease or altogether stop seeing new Medicare patients if these cuts are allowed to occur, the American Medical Association continues to work with Congress towards a permanent, long-term solution for the Medicare payment formula. With current government budget forecasts indicating a potential 10 percent cut by June 30, 2008, much work, but many opportunities, lie ahead. Read more
