As the physician's advocate, the AMA has worked proactively to address physician concerns involving the misuse of prescribing data by pharmaceutical sales representatives. As a result, the AMA created the Physician Data Restriction Program (PDRP), which gives physicians the option to restrict pharmaceutical representatives' access to their specific prescribing data.
The Physician Data Restriction Program provides information on how pharmaceutical companies use prescribing data, how this information is used to support evidence-based medicine and how to restrict pharmaceutical representatives from having access to their prescribing data.
Visit the AMA's Physician Data Prescription Program to voice your opinions about prescribing data. You can register specific concerns regarding inappropriate use of these data, give input on how prescribing data are used and/or restrict pharmaceutical representatives from having access to your individual prescribing data.
