e-mail story | print story

The Senior Physicians Group Governing Council sponsored its caucus, "Life After Practice and Organized Medicine Leadership," on Saturday, June 14, spotlighting three former AMA presidents, Lonnie Bristow, MD, Daniel Johnson, Jr., MD, and Robert McAfree, MD. The meeting was moderated by William Jacott, MD, Chair of the Senior Physicians Group Governing Council. The event drew more than 50 senior physician attendees.

The group recognized Irwin Kline, MD, who is leaving the council, and welcomed its two newest members, Claire Wolfe, MD, and Joseph Murphy, MD. The AMA-SPG Governing Council discussed working toward expanding its outreach to senior physicians 65 years of age and older through involvement and communications. Also, key House of Delegates reports and resolutions were discussed, formalizing policy for senior physicians.

The Senior Physicians Governing Council is committed to building a stronger Senior Physicians Group for the AMA and its senior members.
