MSS Governing Council

  Meet your 2008-2009 MSS Governing Council
The elected Governing Council (GC) acts as the "board" for the MSS in that its members direct the programs and activities of the Section on a national level. The GC consists of eight members from medical schools nationwide who each serve a one-year term, including: Chair, Vice Chair, Delegate, Alternate Delegate, At-Large Officer, Speaker, Vice Speaker and Chair-Elect/Immediate Past-Chair (each serving 6 months).

	Reid Orth Vice Chair: Liaison to the student representatives to AMA Councils and Committees and assists the chair with management of the MSS. University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (321) 514-5231
	Peter Ragusa Delegate: Presents and coordinates testimony and advocates at the AMA House of Delegates for AMA policy that benefits students. Analyzes the topics the AMA has under discussion, identifies those issues of importance to students and summarizes the actions taken on those issues by the House of Delegates. 	Laura Faye Gephart Alternate Delegate: Works in coordination with the MSS Delegate. Loma Linda University School of Medicine (707) 327-6511
	Kunal Mitra At-Large Officer: Coordinates special projects (such as National Service Project) for the MSS and acts as the primary liaison to student leaders of each region, state and chapter. Duke University School of Medicine (678) 528-9508
	Anjali Dogra Speaker: Assists in the programming and presides over two national meetings of the MSS Assembly, oversees and enforces campaign rules, and organizes and leads orientation for new delegates and alternate delegates at Assembly Meeting. SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine (516) 902-0927
