Advocacy Resource Center

The Advocacy Resource Center (ARC) was created in 1997 as a partnership between the AMA and state medical associations. The ARC's mission is to enhance and advance the collective state legislative advocacy efforts of organized medicine. All state medical associations are members of the ARC.

The ARC is governed by 19 Executive Committee members from state medical associations. The Executive Committee meets formally twice a year and by telephone several more times a year to determine the focus of ARC campaigns based on legislative trends and priorities of its members. AMA staff implements the ARC campaigns in consultation with the Executive Committee.

The ARC is a very successful collaboration between and among the AMA and the state medical associations. By sharing strategies and developing focused campaigns, the ARC shows that together we are stronger.
